"The moment you walk through the beautiful doors of the Be Well Spa, you have a feeling of, well…..wellbeing! You may have walked or driven past this beautiful building just opposite the Halifax Commons on Robie Street; it had been left to decay for many years but upon discovering its huge potential, Dr. Cheryl Lycette and her husband Brian are developing this building into something truly wonderful – a centre for wellness.
Actually it is already a centre for wellness with Dr. Lycette’s practice housed in a sunny section of the main floor; the spa itself encompasses gorgeous treatment rooms with organic linens and wonderful surroundings, skylights and eco-friendly amenities. The spa uses a non-paraben, chemical free organic skin and body care range from Naturopathica and is one of the few spas in Canada to carry this fabulous product. The architecture is something to behold and Dr. Cheryl and her husband have completely renovated the space, maintaining the beautiful woodwork and fireplaces and incorporating modern, restful pieces and soothing colours and art throughout.
I spent a Saturday morning at the spa and was completely impressed with the entire experience; from the warm greeting, herbal teas, friendly and informed staff, excellent treatments with the highest quality natural products as well as the therapeutic “feel” of this lovely building, it becomes quite difficult to leave!
At the time of writing, there are plans to further develop the upper floors to house a yoga studio, enhance the back of the house with an outdoor patio and umbrellas…eventually dedicating the entire space to health and wellness. The Be Well Spa – one of a kind in Halifax."

Be Well Spa is a reflection of Dr. Cheryl's holistic approach to wellness - treating the body, mind, and spirit. The spa is a tranquil space with staff ready to pamper you upon arrival. (I love the organic green tea!) I don't believe that there is another spa like this one in Halifax. In the past, I have avoided "mainstream" spas because of their use of synthetic fragrances, chemicals, and petroleum based ingredients in their products. Having discovered Be Well was exciting! Your eco-friendly/organic skincare product line is not only natural, but truly works!
